Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry provides optimal patient care utilizing nursing knowledge and skills, ensuring individualized patient outcomes throughout the entire episode of care. This position is integral in delivering comprehensive nursing services to a diverse population, including adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in a telemetry unit.
• Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of distress, providing timely interventions as necessary.
• Administer medications and non-titratable cardiac medication drips, ensuring compliance with standard protocols.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and recovery.
• Demonstrate the ability to recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and other telemetry-related challenges.
• Float to Intensive Care Units and medical-surgical units as required by patient needs and competencies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required.
• NV RN license required prior to start.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Successful completion of telemetry competency exam, with a focus on identifying and measuring rhythm strips.
