Surgical Nurse - Operating Room

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day Shift: 4x10 hours (07:00 - 17:30)

Must be available to work every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) and on-call two times a week and every third weekend.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will have experience in circulating and scrubbing for a variety of surgical cases, preferably including adult open heart and general surgery. The candidate must be flexible with scheduling and able to meet the on-call requirements as specified.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and management of the operating room.
• Provide excellent patient care by ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.
• Circulate and scrub for surgical procedures, working effectively within a team.
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for patients.
• Maintain accurate medical records and charting through the EPIC system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1.5 years of current acute care operating room experience required.
• Experience in adult open heart and general surgical cases is preferred.
• Must hold an active RN license in NJ or a compact license.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• First time travelers are accepted.
