Occupational Therapist Assistant

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist Assistant will utilize evidence-based practices to provide rehabilitative treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders. This role involves administering various rehabilitation procedures under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and requires adherence to regulatory and clinical practice requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled treatment interventions for patients, including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, and exercises.
• Assess patient progress and communicate effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to company policy.
• Participate in patient care conferences and other required meetings.
• Provide consultation and support to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Supervise and support students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.

Schedule

This position offers a flexible 8-hour day schedule from Monday to Friday.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings is required.
• Current COTA license is mandatory.
• Active State Licensure/Registration when applicable.
