Job Description

The Operating Room Surgical Technician is an integral member of the multidisciplinary surgical team. The Surgical Technician acts as a scrub person, preparing and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. They possess an understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon. Working collaboratively with other team members, they ensure quality patient care during operative procedures while functioning under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role also requires participation in the on-call schedule for after-hours urgent/emergent surgical cases.

Responsibilities

• Act as a scrub person during surgical procedures.
• Prepare and handle necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient care quality.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs based on a clear understanding of procedures.
• Participate in on-call schedules for after-hours surgical cases.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a certified Surgical Technician.
• 1 year of experience is required.
• Broad experience in surgical procedures, with a strong emphasis on vascular procedures, is essential.
• Experience in orthopedic procedures is also required.
