Schedule

Days, Monday through Friday, with flexible 8-hour days that must be consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions, providing rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Administer rehabilitation procedures as part of the treatment plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
  • Assess and document patient progress, communicating with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments as necessary.
  • Report on treatment outcomes and provide consultation to patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Participate in meetings including patient care conferences and utilization reviews.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document treatments in the electronic documentation system.
  • Support students under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist and assist in obtaining necessary durable medical equipment and supplies.
  • Adhere to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) guidelines and state practice acts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.
  • Active State PTA licensure is required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
