Travel Registered Nurse - Neuro MedSurg/Tele

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: Days, 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM; Holidays and every other weekend are required.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a Neuro MedSurg/Tele unit. The successful candidate will provide care to patients with a higher med-surg acuity, including but not limited to stroke, seizures, post-operative neuro surgeries, level 2 trauma patients, and level 1 trauma post-ICU care. Additional care will be provided for diagnoses such as DKA, renal failure, and general post-operative care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct neuro assessments and ensure critical thinking in patient management.
• Manage drains and provide post-surgical care.
• Oversee chest tube and groin site management post-Interventional Radiology.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1 in a 24-bed unit.
• Float to other units as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• NIHSS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a neuro setting.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
