Neuro Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

Position available in a comprehensive stroke center.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 36 hours per week, working 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description

The Neuro ICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with neurological conditions, including stroke management, post-neurosurgery care, and trauma recovery. Ideal candidates will have strong neuro critical care backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with neurological conditions.
• Administer medications, blood products, and provide IV management.
• Utilize advanced equipment for ICP monitoring and other special procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Respond to changes in patient conditions and perform necessary interventions.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to isolation precautions and PPE protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
• Strong abilities in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Experience in ventilated patient care, CVA/acute stroke management, and management of central lines and lumbar drains.
• Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to start.
