Registered Nurse - Med/Surg & eICU

Schedule

Day shift, 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse position provides quality, professional nursing care to patients, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating patient care for a group of patients in the department. This role requires adaptation to changes in daily assignments, patient status, and unit needs, with a focus on both Med/Surg and eICU patients.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process throughout the patient's hospitalization, ensuring individualized care.
• Document patient plans of care based on assessments and medical diagnoses while prioritizing nursing actions.
• Provide care independently, responding to life-threatening situations based on nursing standards and protocols.
• Maintain understanding of procedures and treatments; explain them to patients clearly.
• Monitor and document significant condition changes, notifying Providers in a timely manner.
• Administer medication and IV therapy proficiently, ensuring minimal errors.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team in planning and providing patient care based on individual needs.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients while adhering to infection control procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two-year nursing degree required; BSN preferred.
• Must hold and maintain a Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 1 month of hire.
• ACLS certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire; PALS encouraged.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
