Sterile Processing Technician

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day 4x10-Hour shift from 07:00 to 17:30, with weekends required on Sundays.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for managing and maintaining the sterilization and processing of surgical instruments. An understanding of SPM knowledge across all modalities of sterilization, except ETO, is essential for this role. This position does not require on-call duty and will not float between units.

Responsibilities

• Manage sterilization processes and equipment.
• Maintain compliance with sterilization protocols.
• Perform quality checks and testing of sterilized items.
• Organize and label surgical trays appropriately.
• Utilize Epic for charting and documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum one year of previous experience.
• Certifications: BLS, CBSPD, C.S.P.M, and others relevant to the position.
• Experience with various sterilization techniques and medical instruments.
• Prior experience in a critical access/level III trauma center is preferred.
• Knowledge of automated endoscope reprocessors and high-level disinfection protocols is a plus.
