Registered Nurse - OB/LDRP Unit
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Shifts are scheduled as either 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM on an 8-week scheduling cycle, including every other weekend and holiday. While efforts are made to accommodate preferred shifts, block scheduling is only offered based on staffing needs. Clinicians will not routinely switch between day and night shifts without a consistent schedule pattern.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide patient care in the OB/LDRP unit, supporting a healthcare team that handles an average of 80-90 deliveries monthly. This role is critical in maintaining care quality and supporting new graduate RNs in gaining specialized OB experience. The unit features private LDR rooms, postpartum rooms, operating rooms for Caesarean births, and a special care nursery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum stages.
- Monitor fetal and maternal health throughout the labor process.
- Provide education and support to patients and families during the childbirth experience.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of OB experience; candidates with less experience may be considered with relevant travel experience or specialized OB setting background.
- Required Certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification.
