Registered Nurse - Pediatric Emergency Department

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30), with every other weekend scheduled.

Job Description

The Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) has a separate facility from the Main ED and may require care for holding patients. Previous experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department is required, along with proficiency in vent management. Candidates should be prepared for potential floating to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Responsibilities

• Care for pediatric patients in an emergency department setting.
• Manage ventilated patients and central line care.
• Support general emergency department functions, including adult and pediatric care.
• Interpret 12 lead EKGs and cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Follow isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in pediatric emergency nursing.
• Active New Jersey or compact RN license required at time of submission.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS are mandatory.
• Previous charge experience preferred, along with experience in Trauma Level I and II settings.
