Registered Nurse - Telemetry / Med-Surg

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit, directing and guiding patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective patient care in a telemetry and med-surg environment.
• Monitor cardiac conditions and respond quickly to changes in patients' clinical conditions.
• Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient status, monitoring results, and symptomatology.
• Guide and teach patients and families about health management and medical care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year previous acute care hospital experience.
• Meditech EMR experience preferred.
• Ability to float to units as needed.
