Surgical Technician - Open Heart Surgery

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technician specialized in Open Heart Surgery to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support during surgical procedures and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures, particularly in open heart surgeries.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field, ensuring the availability of all necessary surgical instruments and supplies.
• Work closely with surgeons and other medical professionals to facilitate effective operations.
• Ensure the proper handling and care of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift schedule of 5 consecutive 8-hour days, with on-call responsibilities every third day and possible commitment to two weekends a month.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac Vascular Operating Room (CVOR).
• Certification from NBSTSA required; NCCT will not be accepted.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Experience with Level I trauma care is necessary.
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system is preferred.
