Schedule

This position consists of Monday through Friday shifts, providing 8-hour days that typically run from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This role requires availability for on-call coverage in the evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

This is a 12-week contract position.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level that requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Competently performing a variety of technical procedures and demonstrating proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Practicing radiation safety for patients and staff; ensuring documentation of patient radiation exposure.
• Supporting aseptic technique during procedures and promoting a safe environment through the incorporation of time-out processes.
• Administering contrast under the direction of the procedure physician and providing standby call coverage as scheduled.
• Maintaining point of care testing standards, conducting daily quality control for devices used in procedures.
• Interacting effectively with patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of care, dignity, and respect.
• Communicating instructions to patients clearly and alleviating their fears regarding procedures.
• Identifying patients properly using two patient identifiers and reviewing patient history for optimal outcomes during procedures.
• Ensuring images are appropriately coded, tracked through PACS, and documented in electronic records.

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• ARRT in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology, or equivalent certification
• Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
