Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I
Job Description
The Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I plays a critical role in supporting cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the lab and operating essential equipment. This includes fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition, ensuring accurate documentation of patient information and hemodynamic measurements, while maintaining stringent aseptic technique and patient safety standards. The Technologist I collaborates with the medical team to optimize patient care and departmental efficiency, acting as the radiation safety representative during X-ray usage.
Responsibilities
- Promote Organizational Principles of Catholic Healthcare.
- Ensure major equipment is operational and document for quality control.
- Participate in daily room checks and stocking of supplies.
- Collaborate with the procedure team to ensure appropriate patient care.
- Ensure proper documentation and hemodynamic measurements during procedures.
- Train to set up and operate cath lab equipment, including imaging systems.
- Support and anticipate the needs of the physician during procedures.
- Adhere to aseptic technique and patient safety protocols at all times.
- Engage in patient transport and access site management as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
- Preferred certifications: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or equivalent.
- State licensure as per the modality - Texas MRT or LMRT required.
Schedule
This position requires working 4 days, 10 hours each day.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
