Registered Nurse - Obstetrics

This position is a night shift role, with hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians to develop a comprehensive care plan aimed at returning patients to optimal health. This role includes providing bedside nursing care and executing medical orders, while also overseeing the functions of Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, OB Care Associates, Surgical Service Assistants, Nursing Clerks, and Psychiatric Technicians. Additionally, the RN is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the care plan implemented.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to create and implement patient care plans.
• Provide high-quality bedside nursing care.
• Delegate tasks to and oversee nursing support staff.
• Evaluate and adjust care plans based on patient progress.
• Ensure adherence to medical orders and health regulations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Obstetrics (OB) nursing experience is required.
• AWHONN certification must be attained within the last two years.
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications are required.
• NRP certification is required.
• Valid state nursing license in Michigan is necessary.
