Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Schedule

This position offers a rotating schedule with Day 3x12-Hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00) and Night 3x12-Hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will primarily work in the Medical Surgical unit, providing comprehensive patient care for adults and geriatric patients. This role will involve rotating between units as needed and requires the nurse to manage a patient load, perform assessments, and execute care plans effectively.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes.
• Perform wound care and other procedures according to protocols.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize telemetry systems for patient monitoring.
• Manage medical equipment including IVs, feeding tubes, and tracheostomy care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required.
• Active PA or Compact RN license is required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
• Experience with Cerner charting system is preferred.
