Registered Nurse (RN) - Night 3x12.0

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. This role involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure direct patient care following the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status to facilitate continuity of care.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation and supervision.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in line with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning, providing calm direction and reassurance to staff and families.
• Assume charge responsibility as needed and identify opportunities for professional growth and development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift, 3x12.0 hours per week.
