Operating Room Circulating Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Care

Job Description

The Operating Room of Surgery provides specialized cardiac care to surgical and procedural sedation patients across various age groups, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. The team collaborates with multiple provider specialties ensuring effective patient care for those being discharged on the same day or admitted to the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the operating room.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams during procedures.
• Monitor patients' conditions pre, during, and post-operative procedures.
• Assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment is sterile and ready for use.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission.
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification required.
• AHA ACLS certification required.
• One (1) year experience as a Circulating Nurse in the OR, or completion of an approved didactic pre-operative nursing class.
• Two (2) years experience in ICU/PCU and/or a medical/surgical acute care setting is necessary.
• One (1) year CVOR/Open Heart experience preferred.
• ICU experience and scrubbing experience are preferred.

Schedule

This position requires varying shifts and includes rotating weekends.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
