5x8 Days (06:45 - 15:15) Monday to Friday. Occasional late days expected.

Job Description

The Cardiac Cath Lab RN will provide critical nursing support in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. This role requires a solid understanding of cardiovascular diagnostics, various therapeutic interventions, and emergency response protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac stent placements, diagnostic catheterizations, and interventional procedures.
• Monitor patient status and reactions during procedures, including procedural sedation and recovery phases.
• Administer medications such as antiarrhythmics, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedatives while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct relevant monitoring including 12 Lead EKGs and the interpretation/management of dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high standards of infection prevention and quality patient care.
• Participate in the emergency management protocol, including the use of IABP and thrombolytics.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient documentation using Epic and other systems.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or similar environment.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Familiarity with various cardiac procedures including PCI, ASD closures, and Impella insertion is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies quickly and effectively.
