Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to patient needs, goals, and physician direction. Responsibilities include delegating and directing therapy services, ensuring effective functional treatment programs, and serving as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers. The therapist must uphold compliance with the organizational Code of Conduct, maintain professional standards, and prioritize both patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Document all patient interactions clearly and concisely in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Provide care under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approval.
- Participate in student training programs, providing supervision and evaluations.
- Develop a professional growth plan and pursue ongoing education in the field.
- Adhere to regulatory agencies and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
- Follow organizational performance improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- CPR certification is required.
- Active licensure for the state where work will be performed.
- Previous assignments with Select Medical are preferred but not required.
