Registered Nurse - 13-Week Contract Position

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. The nurse is responsible for maintaining the knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate care based on the age and needs of patients on the assigned unit. The role involves coordinating patient care within an interdisciplinary team and providing patient education for safe discharge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily rounds on all patients to ensure quality customer service and address unmet requirements.
• Develop comprehensive care plans that incorporate patients’ physical, psychological, social, educational, and rehabilitative needs.
• Assess patient conditions and nursing needs, setting goals and prescribing nursing actions accordingly.
• Monitor and manage patients' symptoms of pain and respond promptly to any changes in condition.
• Implement emergency measures for sudden adverse developments and communicate pertinent observations to the multidisciplinary team.
• Begin discharge planning and patient education at the earliest opportunity to optimize understanding for patients and families.
• Delegate nursing interventions to appropriately skilled team members as needed.
• Complete and submit incident reports accurately and prior to each shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet departmental needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse license in North Dakota or a Compact State Agreement.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
• STABLE certification.

Schedule

This position offers a 3x12 D/N rotating shift schedule.
