Surgical Technologist

Job Description

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. Working under the supervision of the RN, you'll ensure surgeons and the surgical team have everything they need for successful procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the RN and surgical team by assisting with limited direct patient care.
• Handling instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Maintaining a strong understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
• Ensuring a sterile field is properly set up, maintained, and protected throughout the procedure.
• Cleaning, preparing, and packaging instruments for disinfection and sterilization.
• Assisting with room turnover between cases, including cleaning and preparing the environment for the next patient.
• Upholding patient safety standards and maintaining required clinical competencies based on scope and training.
• Adhering to AORN Recommended Practices and departmental policies and procedures.
• Demonstrating responsibility in time management, resource use, and supply handling.
• Participating as a collaborative and supportive team member.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Schedule

This position operates on a schedule of 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating call and a 30-minute response time.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
