Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery / Postpartum

This is a 13-week contract position with a schedule of 3x12-hour night shifts each week.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum care. This role primarily focuses on providing pre and postnatal care for mothers and newborns in a non-trauma, 61-bed facility. The RN will be involved in patient assessments, developing care plans, and ensuring safety and comfort for both mother and child throughout the birthing process.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for laboring mothers and postpartum patients.
• Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal care for patients.
• Perform assessments and monitor patients' conditions in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines.
• Assist in transferring high-risk cases to tertiary care facilities as needed.
• Deliver education and support to new mothers and their families about newborn care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• Experience in both Labor and Delivery and Postpartum care preferred.
