Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgement, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care of the patient in the Emergency Department. The role includes maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education, delegating patient care priorities, and providing direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Room setting.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Perform critical thinking and scientific judgement in patient management.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Delegate patient care tasks effectively among staff based on experience and qualifications.
• Provide leadership and supervision to nursing personnel in the delivery of patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a current RN license (WY or multi-state).
• Must possess ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC certifications (American Heart Association).
• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience in a hospital setting.

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with a shift schedule of 2-3.
