Registered Nurse - Critical Care PACU

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position, working a night shift from 19:00 to 07:30 hours. Nurses will work three 11.5-hour shifts weekly, including every other weekend coverage.

Job Description

The role involves providing critical care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The nurse will manage post-operative patients across various specialties, including Ortho, GYN, Interventional Radiology, Stroke, General Surgery, and Urology.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient condition post-anesthesia
• Provide care for vented patients, including management of A-lines, chest tubes, and midlines
• Assist in the documentation and reporting of patient status and response to treatment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Adhere to ASPAN standards for nurse-to-patient ratios

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU and ICU settings
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Critical care training with a focus on managing ventilated patients and post-surgical care
