Registered Nurse - NICU

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-Hour schedule (07:00 - 19:00). This is an every weekend position with one day scheduled during the week.

Job Description

The position involves providing specialized nursing care within a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The nurse will be required to float between five hospitals based on needs and patient census. This role includes direct patient care, monitoring, and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to high-frequency ventilated micro preemies.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 while ensuring high-quality care.
• Utilize Epic for patient charting and documentation.
• Participate in couplet care practices when applicable.
• Adhere to the hospital's policies and procedures regarding floating between facilities as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2-3 years of recent NICU Level III experience.
• Valid BLS and NRP certifications.
• Experience with micro preemies and high-frequency ventilation.
• Active nursing license in NJ or a compact license.
• Epic experience preferred, but first-time travelers accepted with relevant experience.
