Job Description

The Acute Care Radiology Technologist provides health care services related to X-Rays to assist in diagnosis or treatment. The role involves performing X-Ray procedures and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic exams as requested by healthcare providers.
• Conduct fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside radiology providers.
• Assist in procedures such as US guided paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis.
• Educate patients on preparation and post-care for radiology procedures.
• Assist with fluoroscopically guided PICC placements and C-arm fluoroscopy exams in the OR.
• Maintain documentation necessary for proper interpretation and reporting of exams.
• Participate in the implementation and improvement of hospital quality indicators.
• Educate radiography students and new hires on relevant diagnostic and operative guidance exams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of a Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent.
• Montana Licensure (Radiology Technologist) and American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography.
• American Heart Association BLS certification within three months of hire.
• One year of prior radiology experience, which may include clinical internship experience.
• Demonstrated competency in advanced imaging techniques including fluoroscopic/C-Arm in the OR, trauma, and portable radiography within six months.
