MRI Technologist

Schedule

Full Time - 3x12s (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) scheduled as needed between Monday and Friday, with occasional weekend shifts.

Job Description

The MRI Technologist performs technical MRI assignments and exercises complex skill, judgment, and knowledge of the principles and methods of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The role includes performing diagnostic MRI studies as requested and adhering to infection control standards according to universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment, coils, and related devices accurately.
• Evaluate image quality and ensure correct positioning and coil selection based on established guidelines.
• Utilize RIS for entering and editing patient demographics and charges.
• Demonstrate competency with PACS for image processing, review, and protocol selection.
• Implement proper magnet safety measures for self, patients, and other personnel.
• Administer prescribed MRI techniques and contrast media, recognizing and responding to emergencies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A.A.S. degree in Radiologic Technology from an AMA approved program.
• NYS License and certification as a radiologic, nuclear medicine, or ultrasound technologist.
• 1-2 years of experience in diagnostic radiology (MRI experience preferred).
• Maintain mandatory CEC-12 per year in Radiologic Technology.
• BLS certification (through AHA or RQI) required.
