Radiation Therapist

Job Description

The Radiation Therapist will administer ionizing radiation and radioactive substances to patients under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist and in accordance with New York State Department of Health Code part 16 guidelines. The role requires operating high voltage machinery safely and accurately while consistently prioritizing patient welfare in a responsible and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist
• Accurately enter and maintain patient treatment parameters into the electronic medical record
• Interpret computerized treatment plans accurately
• Observe patients daily for reactions and report any adverse reactions promptly
• Facilitate complex problem-solving regarding technical issues
• Adhere to NYSDOH, ARRT, and ACRO radiation safety protocols

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be licensed as a Radiation Therapist in New York (license can be obtained during onboarding)
• ARRT certification required
• Satisfactory completion of a training program in a Radiation Therapy Technology program in an AMA approved school

Schedule

This position is full-time, with hours from 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
