Registered Nurse - IMCU (Nights)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). This role involves providing high-quality care to patients with complex medical needs, including those with sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse issues, and encephalopathy. The nurse will be responsible for managing heparin drips and other critical interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients in the IMCU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including heparin drips.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning.

Schedule

This is a night shift position with a 12-hour schedule, working a 4-day cycle.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably in IMCU or a similar environment.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
