Job Description
The Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient’s needs and physician direction. This professional is responsible for delegating and directing all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate an effective return to community activities. The role encompasses educating patients, families, students, coworkers, and self, while also performing other professional duties associated with patient care and therapy service development.
Responsibilities
- Completes comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develops appropriate treatment plans and goals.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to address barriers to discharge, including equipment trialing, patient and family training, home exercise programs, and planning for continuing services.
- Manages individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions effectively based on patient care needs.
- Documents medical records clearly, concisely, accurately, and timely, complying with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Participates in student programs, offering a positive learning environment and completing evaluations.
- Creates an individualized professional development plan, pursuing continuing education and professional growth.
- Actively engages in patient and professional advocacy efforts within the community.
- Adheres to discipline-specific state practice acts and maintains professional licensure.
- Implements quality improvement methodologies and participates in organizational performance initiatives.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Valid and current State Physical Therapist license.
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in inpatient rehab or neuro settings.
Schedule
This is a day shift position, working 5 days a week, with each shift lasting 8 hours.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
