Registered Nurse - Oncology

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with shifts ranging from as early as 0700-1530 to as late as 0830-1700. No weekends or holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide professional nursing care to oncology patients following established standards, practices, and healthcare techniques. The role involves making professional judgments related to patient care, assisting providers in patient education, and actively engaging with patients, families, and caregivers as part of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care and treatment, including examination, diagnostic procedures, and medication administration.
• Demonstrate competence in patient care and make effective professional judgments.
• Engage with patients and their families in coordinating care and educating them on treatment plans.
• Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Administer medications and treatments while utilizing various types of medical equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of oncology nursing experience.
• Certification in chemotherapy or completion of an ONS fundamentals course within 2 weeks of hire.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
