Registered Nurse - Critical Care Post Anesthesia Care Unit

This position offers a PM shift from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, consisting of 3 × 11.5 hour shifts per week, totaling 35 hours.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide exceptional care in a Critical Care Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role entails monitoring and managing patients recovering from anesthesia, with responsibilities that vary according to patient acuity as per ASPAN standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient load as determined by acuity, generally adhering to a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Provide care for patients following orthopedic, gynecological, interventional radiology, stroke, general surgery, urology, and other surgical procedures.
• Utilize critical care skills, including the management of vented patients, arterial lines, chest tubes, midlines, and post-neurosurgery care.
• Collaborate with surgery teams and maintain effective communication regarding patient status.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU and ICU settings.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
• Must have critical care training and be comfortable with complex patient care scenarios.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
