Cardiac Sonographer

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Rotating days with shifts including rotating weekends. Overnight call from 5:00 PM to 6:30 AM, 2-3 nights per month, with strict guidelines and cardiologist approval required for calls.

Job Description

The Cardiac Sonographer will be responsible for performing a high volume of echocardiograms, including transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs). This role requires adherence to lab standards and protocols, ensuring optimal image quality and maintaining diagnostic accuracy in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret various echocardiographic procedures.
• Manage high-volume workflows while ensuring superior diagnostic quality.
• Optimize image quality through effective scanning techniques and equipment settings.
• Ensure patient comfort and understanding throughout all procedures.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare team members to enhance patient care.
• Maintain compliance with ASE and IAC standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 5 years of echocardiography experience.
• At least 2 years of acute inpatient echo experience in a Trauma 1 level facility.
• Proficiency in a wide range of echocardiographic procedures and techniques, including the use of 3D echo and strain imaging.
• Strong knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology.
• Exceptional patient care and communication skills.
• Commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.
