Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I
Job Description
The Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I plays a vital role in supporting cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the lab and operating essential equipment. This position ensures accurate documentation of patient information and hemodynamic measurements while maintaining stringent aseptic technique and patient safety standards. The Technologist I collaborates with the medical team to optimize patient care and departmental efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the procedure team and Cath Lab Lead/Coordinator for optimal patient care and departmental efficiency.
- Ensure major equipment is operational and document as required for quality control.
- Participate in daily room checks and stocking of supplies.
- Access and manage patient schedules and information for assigned procedures.
- Ensure appropriate equipment, supplies, and room configuration for all procedures.
- Document procedure details, hemodynamic measurements, and ECG recognition during assigned procedures.
- Assist the physician by ensuring patient safety and performing as expected during procedures.
- Adhere to infection control and patient safety policies.
- Act as radiation safety representative during X-ray usage.
- Obtain and maintain proficiency in access site management.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
- Preferred certifications: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or similar credentials.
- State Licensure required based on modality - Texas: MRT or LMRT by TMB.
Schedule
This position works 4 days a week, with 10-hour shifts.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
