Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of their professional license and with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans.
• Explaining the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients.
• Conducting physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment and devices.
• Performing chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods.
• Monitoring oximetry and capnography, and conducting chest x-rays reviews.
• Performing 12-Lead EKGs and recognizing basic arrhythmias.
• Assisting with procedures related to respiratory care as per policy.
• Maintaining and monitoring mechanical ventilation on different types of equipment.
• Recording treatment information and communicating with physicians regarding therapy efficiency.
• Ensuring accurate respiratory therapy charging and data entry.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Candidates must possess the appropriate licensure and certifications relevant to the role of a Respiratory Therapist.
