Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring compliance with the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Develop individualized plans of care based on assessment data, identifying teaching needs and goals.
- Provide timely patient information for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on an assigned unit.
- Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
- Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
- Supervise ancillary nursing personnel by providing direction, training, and support.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety by following nursing policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to unit dynamics and participate in team-building activities.
- Monitor supplies and equipment to maintain effective patient care.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested following the orientation period.
- Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
- Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is required.
- Charge Nurse experience is also required.
Schedule
This position operates on a Day 3x12.0 shift schedule.
