Job Description

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM (may work until 05:00 PM based on census and case load). No call during the week, just weekend if needed. Floating may be required based on staff and census.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, providing support for other imaging technologists as needed and facilitating smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure are expected. Adherence to expected imaging competencies outlined by management is required while observing radiation safety measures for personnel and patients.

  • Ensure the confidentiality of patient information and compliance with all policies and regulations.
  • Perform examinations/procedures to assist in patient throughput within the scope of licensure and documented competencies.
  • Ensure completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS.
  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions.
  • Flexibility in working shifts and at other campuses as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) by ARRT or NMTCB required.
  • State Licensure required - Texas MRT by TMB.
  • BLS required (AHA only).
