Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Neuro Unit (13-week Contract)

Schedule

This position is for a Day Shift, 3x12-hour schedule, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. Travelers are required to work every other weekend, and floating to other Med/Surg and Telemetry areas may be required.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience, to join our Med/Surg Neuro Unit. The ideal candidate will work primarily with stroke and neuroscience patients, requiring proficiency in telemetry and the management of dysrhythmias. This role demands a strong collaborative spirit and flexibility, as candidates will float to different units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients within the Med/Surg Neuro Unit.
• Monitor patient health, including vital signs and IV therapy.
• Administer medication and manage dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to plan and evaluate patient care.
• Participate in unit orientation and training programs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 2 years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in a Med/Surg setting.
• Current BCLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred.
• Active NC or Compact RN license required at the time of start.
• Proficient in IV start and telemetry, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.
