Travel Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Days (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM) with call; exact shift times/days of the week may vary based on patient volume.

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for patient care in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works collaboratively with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and other personnel to provide patient care according to state regulations and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability of surgical supplies and equipment.
• Maintain timely and organized case flow in the OR.
• Communicate effectively with patients' families and surgical team members.
• Update and maintain physician preference cards.
• Scrub and assist during surgical procedures.
• Supervise personnel in providing patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience in the operating room, with strengths in Orthopedics, Neuro, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, and Urology.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) experience required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Expectation to float between campuses as needed.
