Rotating shift: 3x12 hours, either days (07:00 - 19:30) or nights (19:00 - 07:30).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Stepdown Unit provides advanced nursing care to patients with moderate to complex medical needs. The role includes potential floating to units J1-2, J33, and ED to care for similar patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and procedures.
• Utilize ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate protocols during patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit nursing.
• Valid Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand.
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Must pass both ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate tests during orientation.
