CT Technologist - 13-Week Contract Position

Schedule

Friday - Sunday, 7 PM - 7:30 AM EST with holidays on call and callback per unit needs. Expect 2-3 call shifts per month.

Job Description

The CT Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging and ensuring patient safety during imaging procedures. This role involves coordinating with physicians and preparing patients for scans while providing them with comfort and clear instructions. Additionally, the technologist will maintain accurate patient records and uphold cleanliness and safety in the scanning facility.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and verify exams prior to scans.
• Prepare patients for CT scans and explain procedures.
• Insert IVs when necessary for tests.
• Position patients safely and effectively, especially those with limited mobility.
• Document required components accurately in EPIC and ensure images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State (NYS) licensure as a CT Technologist required.
• Two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT certification is maintained.
• Injection therapy certification preferred or willingness to complete during orientation.
• Experience with Siemens and Philips equipment is preferred.
