Job Description

The oncology nurse will provide specialized care to patients in a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit. Candidates must possess oncology experience and a chemotherapy certification. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, monitoring patient vitals and telemetry, and performing infrequent bone marrow biopsies.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage patient care.
• Monitor patient vitals and observe telemetry readings.
• Conduct bedside shift reports and safety rounds.
• Participate in team management and coordinate care with staff.
• Assist with infrequent bone marrow biopsies and related procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Oncology nursing experience is required.
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS) is mandatory.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Experience in a BMT unit is preferred.
• Competence in reading telemetry and administering medication through simple titration of drips is required.
