This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 5x8 hours, rotating every other weekend. No holidays or on-call required.

Job Description

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammography examinations in compliance with ACR requirements. This position also assists with various breast imaging procedures including breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, and breast localization within the Breast Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on patients of varying ages.
• Conduct mammographic imaging for breast needle localization procedures and stereotactic procedures.
• Assist in procedures utilizing ultrasound guidance.
• Provide immobilization devices and determine proper technical aspects based on individual needs.
• Document and identify patient films correctly, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Assist with quality control procedures and documentation for compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA regulations.
• Provide education to patients regarding breast self-exams and pre/post procedure instructions.
• Maintain detailed records of patient interactions and relevant quality control measures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist.
• Must possess ARRT certification and diagnostic radiography license.
• Mammography certification is required within the first three months of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology is required.
