Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in providing specialized care to pediatric patients with critical health issues, including epilepsy monitoring and care for patients up to 25 years of age. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in family education and support during critical health challenges.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in pediatric nursing prior to travel assignments.
• Current and valid Ohio nursing license or compact state license.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Experience in EKG interpretation and administering inotropes.
• NIHHS certification preferred.
