Schedule

Part Time - 2 x 12-hour shifts, day and/or night variable shifts (scheduled as needed by client) with every other weekend on-call shifts.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The RN specializes in the care of patients admitted for medical conditions, offering support to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations. Responsibilities include patient and family education for self-care post-hospitalization and promoting comfort in a healing environment.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skills in delivering patient care.
• Assesses patient and family needs through active listening and observation to create an individualized plan of care.
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans based on patient response and changing conditions.
• Promotes health, safety, and patient rights, while encouraging trust and cooperation among team members.
• Provides education to patients and families regarding care and self-management after discharge.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing practice and engages in professional development.
• Develops meaningful connections with patients and families to enhance care and fulfill their needs.
• Administers medications and ensures compliance with infection prevention protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure required.
• BLS and ACLS (AHA or RQI only) certifications required.
• One year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse is required.
