Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) is an essential member of the surgical team, responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing complex cardiovascular surgical procedures. The role requires proficiency in circulating and scrubbing procedures, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in various cardiovascular surgeries including valve replacements, coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements (TAVR).
• Participate in the preparation and maintenance of the OR, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Monitor patient vitals and provide post-operative care as necessary.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using the EPIC charting system.
• Provide on-call support as scheduled.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of submission.
• Minimum of 2.5 years of nursing experience with specific experience in CVOR preferred.
• Current certifications in BLS required.
• Experience in hybrid room settings and some degree of transplant experience is highly preferred.
