Charge Nurse - Nights 7a-7p

Job Description

The Charge Nurse role assists the Director in achieving organizational and department-specific goals and objectives. This position works supportively as a Charge Nurse, quality management coordinator, and a resource for the unit. The Charge Nurse coordinates and directs total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during their duty, assuming full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident/patient care. This role participates in patient/resident and family teaching while providing leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing and unit team members according to established facility/unit and department policies, procedures, and standards. The RN is directly responsible to the Director of Nursing (D.O.N) or their designee and maintains resident/patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct nursing care for assigned residents/patients.
• Assume full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• Participate in patient/resident and family education.
• Provide leadership and support to nursing and ancillary staff.
• Ensure compliance with facility, unit, and departmental policies and standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: 2-year College (Associates Degree)
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years nursing experience
• License: Active State of Maine or Compact RN license
• Certification: BLS required

Schedule

Position will be scheduled for night shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
