Registered Nurse - Advanced Care Unit (Stepdown)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour shifts, primarily days (07:00-19:30), with occasional weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

The Advanced Care Unit (ACU) is a specialized unit focusing on stroke, trauma, and vascular patients. The registered nurse will be responsible for providing high-level acute care in this fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for a maximum of 4-5 patients in a stepdown acuity setting.
• Monitor vital signs and interpret cardiac rhythms, ensuring prompt action where necessary.
• Titrate medications such as Cardizem, Insulin, and Heparin as per physician orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in unit orientation and continuous education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
• Must have stepdown acuity experience, particularly with stroke and vascular patients.
